Star-studded show ‘The Idol’ gets Release Date, new Teaser launched

Mumbai (India), 20th April 2023: HBO has revealed that its original programme “The Idol” will debut on Sunday, June 4 at 9 p.m. The network has also released another sensual teaser for the programme. The series’ acceptance in this year’s Cannes Film Festival’s out of competition selection is praised in the newly released teaser video.

Lily-Rose Depp daighter of star Johnny Depp plays Jocelyn in “The Idol,” a young woman with a hunger for fame who wants to rule the entertainment business. Jocelyn’s career soars to new heights when she meets Tedros, a strong, sex-obsessed cult leader played by Abel “The Weekend” Tesfaye.

The star-studded ensemble of “The Idol” has generated a lot of buzz, and the Rolling Stone article that “The Idol” production had “gone wildly, disgustingly off the rails” has also contributed to the excessive buzz around the HBO series’ ahead of its premiere.

Together with Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim, Tesfaye co-created the show. Following Amy Seimetz’s departure from the programme in April 2022 “due to a change in creative directions,” Levinson assumed control of the series’ directing responsibilities. According to those who spoke to Rolling Stone, the show was taking a “disturbing” turn, which was stressful for the staff. Both HBO and Depp have denied.

Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Eli Roth, Hari Nef, Jane Adams, Jennie Ruby Jane, Mike Dean, Moses Sumney, Rachel Sennott, Ramsey, Suzanna Son, and Hank Azaria are among the other actors in the star studded cast in addition to Depp and Tesfaye.
