Greater Noida/ Delhi-NCR– 27th June 2023 – The Indian Fashion Jewellery & Accessories’23 Show gathered momentum through the first two days with around 200 exhibitors engaging with buyers, artisans using the opportunity of the trade platform to their best benefit & learning, ramp presentations with products from several participants at the show and guests from the Government of India.

Speaking about visitor traffic, R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH said, “buyers in good numbers have visited and shared their interest in placing orders with their regular and new found suppliers at the fair. First time visitors are pleased with the atmosphere and concentrated display & presentations. Many have been eloquent about their preference for sourcing from manufacturers they met at IFJAS through the years.”

Andrew, a buyer from UK is here for accessories to enhance ensembles. “I like the bags in particular and will be choosing selections from both modern and traditional designs,” he shared. A first time visiting buyer from Germany, Nicola Bush Designs, said, “while I have imported from India in the past, this is my first visit to the fair. I had heard so much, so I am here for jewellery, glass beads and paper goods. I like the product quality, the neat spread-out of the stalls and smooth buyer-seller communication.” Marina, a buyer from South Africa has visited IFJAS before and is here to explore more and strengthen bonds. “The products are amazing and my clients love them,” she said.

“The exclusive regional display with participants from pan India set up at IFJAS are getting their share of attention and market exposure,” said Amit Jain, President, IFJAS 2023. Some of the jewellery crafts displayed have a rich history and are being continued as a family tradition, but with chic touches to suit today’s trends. Meenakari, Chikankari, Zardozi, Bead Crafts, River reed weaving, Kantha and Kolhapuri leather craft are just some of them.

“Among other activities, the Ramp presentations with products from several participants at the show gathered attention and appreciation. Buyers have appreciated this mode of visual merchandising to take a practical look at collections in fashion jewellery, textile based accessories like scarves & stoles, bags, apparel and handcrafted footwear,” Harshwardhan Gupta, Vice-President – IFJAS 2023, informed.

“In keeping with the topicality of ‘think exports’ with upcoming entrepreneurs, start-ups, artisans looking at an international reach, etc. a seminar on “How to start an export business & explore export opportunities” was held today. The speakers including industry experts and senior EPCH faculty shared information on starting exports, connecting with buyers, design & product development, contemporary marketing practices for growth, etc.,” said R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH.

Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts is a nodal agency for promotion of exports of handicrafts from the Country and create brand image of magic of the gifted hands of millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in production of home, lifestyle, textiles, furniture and fashion jewellery & accessories products in different craft clusters of the Country. The overall Handicrafts exports during the year 2022-23 was Rs. 30,019.24 Crores (US $ 3,728.47 Million) and the exports of Fashion Jewellery & Accessories during the year 2022-23 was Rs. 1854.97 Crores (US $ 230.39 Million) informed by R. K. Verma, Executive Director, EPCH.
