On the basis of its numbers in Assembly and on the strength of its advertisement money Delhi Govt. is trying to suppress the voice of the people-Satish Upadhyay
New Delhi, 26th March. The meeting of Delhi BJP Executive Committee was held today in Chhatarpur area of Delhi. Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley inaugurated the meeting by lighting a lamp which was held under the Chairmanship of Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay. Pradesh Incharge Shri Shyam Jaju, National General Secretary Dr. Anil Jain, Co-Incharge Shri Tarun Chugh, National Secretary Shri Maheish Girri MP, Sardar R.P. Singh, LOP Shri Vijender Gupta, MPs Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Shri Pravesh Verma, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Dr. Udit Raj, Shri Manoj Tiwari, Organisation General Secretary Shri Siddharthan and party office bearers, representatives recited group Vandematram after which the proceedings of the meet started.
Welcoming the delegates and party leaders, Delhi BJP President Shri Satish Upadhyay said that it is heartening to note that moral of BJP workers stands fully restored and they are preperaring with full confidence & strategy for the ensuing Municipal Elections. He also said that in the midst of disappointment of the people, the Kejriwal Government is trying to establish itself in national politics with the help of costly advertisements but I believe that he cannot cheat the people again and again. The people of Delhi fully understand the Kejriwal Government. The BJP workers shall go to the people together and regain their political ground.
Organisational General Secretary Shri Siddharthan presented his report on the organisational activities and assessment of the work of the District Presidents.
In his inaugural speech Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley said that the role of the BJP workers in the political journey of BJP is very important. Since the Jansangh times people have reposed faith in our party and we had formed first Government in Delhi itself. Even in students politics the youth of Delhi from the very beginning have supported nationalist organisation ABVP in DUSU elections and today it is a matter of happiness that the students of JNU have also given a good support to ABVP and they have representation in this University also. The vicious atmosphere being witness in JNU, Delhi and the country is to a great extent the result of the frustration of the leftist and the Congress party due to the expansion of ABVP in JNU.
Shri Jaitley further said that besides being the capital of the country, Delhi is also political capital, media centre of the country. The issues of the country are decided in the discussions in Delhi and in such situations it is essential that the Delhi BJP prepares such teams of the speakers who may be able to create public awareness on large scale within a short time. Although there are good speakers in BJP in the entire country but since the media centre of the country is Delhi, it is the responsibility of Delhi to prepare good speakers who may be able to present the views of BJP strongly on every point.
Shri Jaitley also said that even sometimes ago BJP was considered to be a party limited to some particular areas of the country but today we have expanded from Leh-Laddakh to Tiruvanathpuram, from Swarashtra to Imphal. He called upon the Delhi workers that they should come out the disappointment of loss in last year elections and should strengthen their political ground. There is great frustration among the people of Delhi against Kejriwal Government and the Congress party has become irrelevant which is trying to survive by forming alliance with small parties. In this situation the regaining the lost ground in Delhi has become easy for BJP. Only the thing which is required is dedication and integrity of the party workers.
Shri Jaitley said that I was in Assam yesterday and I am fully confident that we shall be forming Government there. He was of the view that due to the support given by the people at Centre and various states we have to perform the two duties. The first is to free the country from hunger and take the country on the path of total development. The second is to develop nationalistic thinking and provide honest Government. We have to change the creaking administrative system of the country and provide transparent government without the interference of the middleman. The Modi Government is working in this direction. We have also expedited the investigation of black money stashed in foreign controversies and also trying to recover black money hidden in the country.
Shri Jaitley also said that it is very regrettable that controversy arises even on saying ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and Veer Savarkar’s love for the nation is questioned. There is such Government in Delhi which feels proud in calling itself anarchist and now it has crossed all the limits of democratic norms by supporting the anti national elements.
Shri Jaitley has called upon the Delhi BJP workers that they should unite and try to make their party victorious in the next MCD elections and they should be confident that the people of Delhi shall fully support BJP.
Pradesh Incharge Shri Shyam Jaju said that the way in which the BJP workers of Delhi have exposed the corruption and failures of Kejriwal by their relentless efforts during the last one year, Delhi Government is very much on back foot. He said that there is a great responsibility on the BJP workers because the present Delhi Government has become a refuge of anti social and anarchist elements. The country is looking towards the people of Delhi that they will reject this Government very soon.
Shri Shyam Jaju called upon the workers to work promptly and assured the support of the national organisation in their efforts.
In his presidential address Shri Satish Upadhyay welcomed all the delegates and the party leaders and said that the meeting of the Executive Committee will be helpful in framing guidelines for the MCD election to be held next year. He said that on the one hand the Union Government under Shri Narender Modi is fullycommitted for Antyodaya and on the other hand it is trying to take the country on the path of progress. But the Kejriwal Government of Delhi which came as a change in Delhi is completely involved in corruption and anarchism and fast losing its political ground. On the basis of its numbers in Assembly and on the strength of its advertisement money Delhi Government is trying to suppress the voice of the people and media. The Ministers and MLAs in Delhi have become synonyms with corruption and anarchism. Within a year two ministers have been removed due to forgery and corruption. Kejriwal Government had started its innings with campaign against corruption but only after some days it was found that even the data of arrests of the corrupt persons in it campaign was false.
Shri Upadhyay further said that the youth of Delhi is completely disappointed with this Government. They have neither been given educational loan nor new school/colleges or free wi-fi which has shown its result in the DUSU elections and JNU elections. The candidates of nationalist organisation ABVP registered unprecedented success. The farmers of Delhi are also disappointed with this Government because even after the unseasonal rains in 2015 and this year also they have not been paid compensation.
National General Secretary Dr. Anil Jain said that BJP Government is committed to the Antyodaya philosophy of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay and it is the responsibility of the workers to apprise the common people about the achievements of Modi Government which will be beneficial for us in Delhi’s politics.
National Secretary Shri Tarun Chugh said that the Panchnishthayein of BJP is always relevant and BJP has progressed by following these principals and our workers are committed to the development of nation. Presenting a road map for the next MCD elections before the workers of Delhi he said that we shall have to provide sanitation and basic amenities to the people of Jhuggi Clusters and unauthorised colonies through the Municipal Corporations. It will benefit us in the 2017 MCD elections and we shall again become victorious.
The MPs of Delhi Shri Maheish Girri, Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Shri Pravesh Verma, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Dr. Udit Raj & Shri Manoj Tiwari presented the assessment of their works and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Shri Vijender Gupta presented his political resolution in which the corrupt and anarchist Government of Delhi which came to power by misleading the people of Delhi and which is creating constitutional crisis and supporting the anti national elements in JNU, has been condemned. In addition the Government has also been criticised for its failure to take up development works, cheating the Jhuggi and unauthorised colony dwellers, back tracking on the promises made to the youth and women for education and employment etc. MP Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, National Secretary Sardar R.P. Singh and MLA OP Sharmaseconded the resolution and said that the development works in Delhi have completely stopped and the people of slum clusters of Delhi have been cheated. They also said that this Government has completely failed to fulfil the expectations of the people and is trying to divert the attention of the people by introducing No Car Day and Odd-Even schemes in order to cover up its failures. The Chief Minister of Delhi Government has not taken any responsibility and is engaged in the political expansion of the party by misusing public money.
Another resolution was passed in the executive meeting which has condemned the raising of questions on nationalism by some political parties, creating controversy about Shahid-e-Azam Bhagat Singh and a disputed comment by Kapil Mishra a Minister under Delhi Government.
The Mayors of all the three Municipal Corporations Shri Harsh Malhotra, Shri Ravindra Gupta, Shri Subhash Arya presented a report on the achievements and activities of Municipal Corporations in the meeting.
A condolence message was also passed in the meeting on the sad demise of martyrs from the security forces & some respected persons Shri Ashok Singhal, Shri Sohan Singh, Shri Surya Krishna, Shri Krishan Tyagi and Dr. Pankaj Narang.
