New Delhi :– Sixth national CSR Summit 2018 started today with the theme of Building Brand India : CSR for Promoting Art, Culture and Heritage; section 135, companies Act 2013.
Summit Director & Advisor Shikhar Dr. RK Suri delivered the welcome address.
Speaking about the theme, Pooran Chandra Pandey, Managing Projector Director, DOC India said, “It has been found universally that people when get stuck under different castes, creeds etc. the thing that bounds them is usually a shared heritage. Art, culture and heritage more than anything is a binding glue which can bring everyone together. We are all human beings and had we not been religious, we not have been really civilized”.
Thereafter Padam Shri JS Rajput, Indian Representative to The Executive Board of UNESCO delivered a special address.
He said, “It is the responsibility of the mankind to achieve a balance between nature and human beings. We by birth are indebted to nature. A learned man used to tell that development of this nation can be achieved by STPG formula which is Science, Technology, Production and Gandhi. This nation and its people believe that knowledge and wisdom must be achieved even if it requires most strong efforts”.
The Shikhar honours were also delivered to the eminent personalities during the occasion.
Seasoned journalist and social activist Deepak Dwivedi was conferred with Shikhar Samman, which was presented by Union Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma.
Sanskritik Virasat Samman was bestowed on Agha Khan Trust for culture which was received by India CEO Ratish Nanda.
Union Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma delivered the inaugural address.
He said, ” The preservation of heritage is a collective process. It is important to understand that those who live for others have only lived the real life. It is time for a cultural awakening in the society. Our rich heritage and culture doesn’t let us to compete with nature but to co-exist with nature and this is what has kept is bound. I appreciate the efforts of all people associated with Shikhar Organization for their efforts in preservation and promotion of heritage”.
Aditya Ghildyal delivered vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude towards all the stakeholders for their participation in the summit.
