UP govt approves 56 acre free land for GIMS, Greater Noida

Greater Noida, 25 April 2022: The Uttar Pradesh Government has allotted 56 acres of land, free of cost, to GIMS (Government Institute of Medical Services) to build the college building, informed Director Dr (Brig) Rakesh Gupta on Monday.

“The land is situated near GIMS Hospital, we have been pursuing the land for over four years. It is planned that the land will be utilized to construct the college building, hostel, library and facility of superspeciality services,” Dr. Gupta said.

In recent years, GIMS has made remarkable progress in the medical and health-care field in terms of patient care, medical education and research. For instance, GIMS offers cashless medical services to all the CGHS, ECHS, government employees, media and associates, and insurance holders. Apart from this, the hospital also provides the facility of a private ward at Rs 1000 per day.

In terms of medical education, the Institute has made significant advancement by commencing MD courses in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, microbiology and pharmacology. Simultaneously, GIMS has also started paramedical courses in operation theatre, blood bank and laboratories.

In the field of research, the Institute has managed to put together a multidisciplinary research unit and a viral research developmental lab, whose three projects has already been approved by the ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research).
