Uttar Pradesh Gears Up for UPITS 2025 with New Delhi Roadshow

New Delhi, July 4, 2025: In a determined move to establish Uttar Pradesh as a key player on the global trade map, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with India Exposition Mart Ltd. (IEML), successfully hosted a high-profile roadshow in New Delhi on July 4, 2025. The event was held in the lead-up to the third edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS 2025), scheduled from September 25 to 29 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. This follows the curtain-raiser event held in Lucknow on June 27, 2025, inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

With the theme “Ultimate Sourcing Begins Here,” UPITS 2025 aims to spotlight the diverse strengths of Uttar Pradesh across key sectors such as MSMEs, Electronics, IT, Handloom and Textiles, ODOP, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture, Food Processing, Automobiles, Electric Vehicles, Renewable Energy, and Traditional Crafts. The Delhi roadshow served as a vital platform to engage industry leaders, trade bodies, international diplomats, and key stakeholders in a dialogue on the state’s rising industrial and export potential.

The event was attended by senior government officials and trade leaders including Rakesh Sachan, Cabinet Minister for MSME, Khadi and Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom & Textile, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, MSME & Export Promotion; Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Ltd.; Dr. Ajay Sahai, Director General and CEO of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO); and Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Chairman of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts. Representatives from embassies of Austria, Canada, Vietnam, Norway, and Singapore were also present, along with sourcing consultants, institutional buyers, and trade associations from across North India.

Addressing the gathering, Rakesh Sachan stated that Uttar Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a hub of growth, entrepreneurship, and global engagement. He noted that the third edition of UPITS is not merely an exhibition but a testament to the strength and diversity of Uttar Pradesh’s industries and artisans. Emphasizing the improvement in law and order and infrastructural development in the state, he remarked that industries and MSMEs are now thriving like never before. He described UPITS as a dynamic fusion of heritage and innovation, where the finest of traditional crafts and modern technologies are brought together under one roof.

Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, highlighted the state’s rapid economic transformation, likening it to a “giant waking up.” He emphasized that UPITS has become a gateway for the state’s MSMEs and artisans to enter global markets, building stronger connections with each edition and reinforcing the state’s role in contributing to India’s trillion-dollar economy.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Ltd., remarked that UPITS offers a comprehensive platform for sourcing all types of products and services from Uttar Pradesh. He reiterated the show’s focus on showcasing sectoral excellence and bringing global attention to the unique offerings of the state.

Dr. Ajay Sahai, Director General of FIEO, spoke about the hosted overseas buyers program being organized with support from the state government, aimed at enabling international buyers to engage directly with Uttar Pradesh’s diverse manufacturing ecosystem. He stressed that UPITS is fast becoming an unmatched sourcing destination for both domestic and global stakeholders.

The roadshow also provided a preview of what to expect at UPITS 2025, including expanded exhibitor segments, focused B2B meetings, buyer delegations, dedicated ODOP showcases, and specially curated export promotion zones. It is part of a larger national promotional campaign designed to raise awareness and drive engagement for the event. The Delhi edition, in particular, focused on forging connections with sourcing consultants, institutional buyers, exporters, and industry bodies from the capital and surrounding regions. Similar roadshows are planned in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad in the coming weeks.

Building on the overwhelming success of its previous editions—which attracted lakhs of visitors and generated business enquiries worth thousands of crores—UPITS 2025 is poised to be even more ambitious in scope and scale. It continues to stand as a powerful symbol of trade, tradition, and transformation, reflecting the vision of a self-reliant and globally connected Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
