VIJENDER GUPTA WILL BE LEADER OF THE BJP LEGISLATURE PARTY

New Delhi, 18th February.   In a meeting held at BJP Delhi Pradesh Office today newly elected MLA and former Pradesh President Shri Vijender Gupta was elected as leader of the BJP Legislature Party in Delhi Legislative Assembly. Pradesh Incharge Shri Prabhat Jha, Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay and all the newly elected MLAs Shri Vijender Gupta, Shri Om Prakash Sharma and Shri Jagdish Pradhan were present in the meeting.

Announcing this decision in a Press Conference at Pradesh Office on this occasion Pradesh Incharge Shri Prabhat Jha said that although the number of our MLAs is not large but the administrative experience of Shri Vijender Gupta will compensate for this shortcoming and all our three MLAs shall raise the issues of public interest continuously in the Legislative Assembly and also before the Government.

Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay said that we certainly respect the mandate of the people and will work as a healthy opposition. On the one hand our experienced MLAs shall pressurize the Government to fulfill the promises made and on the other hand our party organization will fully co-operate the Legislature Party in raising every issue and if needed we shall agitate on the streets also.

Shri Upadhyay also said that BJP strongly opposes the ban of media in the Secretariat premises by the new Government. We are working in the Municipal Corporations of Delhi and there is free entry to the media in our offices and its meetings.

The newly elected leader of Legislature Party Shri Vijender Gupta said that we shall fully cooperate with the Government in its public welfare works and we also expect that the Delhi Government will fully cooperate in implementing the Central Government’s scheme like Jaha Jhuggi, Wahi Makan and Beti Bachao Andolan.

Shri Vijender Gupta said that we offer good wishes to the newly formed Government and advice that firstly they should understand their administrative responsibilities and only after that make announcements. The announcements made recently by the Government show their lack of experience. It may be the case of ban on demolition for which there is Central law in place and under this law there is ban on demolitions in Delhi till the year 2017 or the case of ban on the media in the secretariat.

In the meeting of the new House of Delhi Cantonment Board, BJP member Smt. Kavita Jain was elected as the Vice Chairperson of Cantonment Board. Col. Narendra Choudhary was elected as the Chairman of Finance Committee and Mrs. Priyanka Choudhary as the Member of Finance Committee. Offering good wishes to all the three members Pradesh President Shri Satish Upadhyay said that although Cantonment Board is a small body but we hope that all our members shall establish a new model of development works.
