World Anaesthesia Day Marked with Academic Excellence and Creative Expressions at GIMS

GREATER NOIDA News (16/10/2025): The Department of Anaesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine at the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, observed World Anaesthesia Day on October 16 with great enthusiasm and academic spirit. The event was organised in collaboration with the Department of Paramedical Sciences to underline the vital role anaesthesiologists and paramedical professionals play in patient safety, surgical precision, and critical care management.
The celebration began with a poster-making competition for paramedical students on the theme “Anaesthesiologists in Healthcare Emergencies.” Participants displayed exceptional creativity and awareness, using visuals and data to depict the significance of teamwork and preparedness in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine.
Adding academic depth to the occasion, a guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Vikrant, who spoke on “Recent Advances and Challenges in Anaesthesia Practice.” His talk provided valuable insights into emerging technologies, patient monitoring innovations, and the evolving responsibilities of anaesthesiologists in modern healthcare. Faculty and students praised his engaging presentation for its practical relevance and forward-looking perspective.
The event was attended by prominent faculty members including Dr. Manisha, Principal of the Department of Paramedical Sciences; Dr. Nazia Nazir, Head of the Department of Anaesthesia; Prof. Dr. Samiksha Khanuja; and Dr. Savita Gupta. All dignitaries appreciated the synergy between the two departments and lauded the initiative for fostering interdepartmental learning and collaboration.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, followed by a prize distribution ceremony recognizing the most innovative poster presentations.
By combining education, creativity, and collaboration, the celebration not only honoured the contributions of anaesthesia professionals but also inspired young paramedical students to uphold excellence and compassion in patient care — reaffirming GIMS’s commitment to advancing medical education and healthcare standards.
