Greater Noida (11/12/2018) : Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority will be interlinking Yamuna Expressway with Eastern Peripheral Expressway by constructing an interchange. For this project YEIDA has sent a letter to NHAI for providing a Detailed Project Report after which bid will be floated for the project.
For now, Eastern Peripheral Expressway passing over from Yamuna Expressway near villages Jaganpur and Afzalpur, but they don’t have the connectivity. So, because of that, commuters taking Yamuna Expressway have to travel longer, but, after construction of this interchange, Haryana and region of western UP will have direct connectivity to Noida International Airport.
Construction of the project will be bared by NHAI, and apart from the construction design, collection of tolls, NHAI will take care of all its operations.
Devendra Baliyan, GM YEIDA, told that “we are now waiting for DPR from NHAI, as soon as we receive it, the project will be preceded to next step and bid will be floated. The total cost of the project will be around 85 crores and 47 acre of land is already being acquired by the authority.”
Earlier also, this project was initiated but at that time NHAI and YEIDA don’t have mutual consent over some issues like cost bearing of project and compensation of land, after which the project has been dropped.
But after the consent of both the organizations, the door for this interchange has been opened.
