Noida, 5th September, 2022: Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has proposed a 1,000-acre semiconductor and electronic industrial cluster in Sector 10.
While the semiconductor cluster will be built on 700 acres, EMC will be built on 300 acres. Land where domestic and foreign enterprises can invest will be acquired for this purpose.
According to officials, this initiative would not only attract investment but will also create numerous job chances.
Many foreign corporations, particularly those from Taiwan, have expressed interest in establishing branches in the area.
An investment of Rs 1 lakh crore is expected, with the Authority estimating that over 65,000 people will be employed as a result.
YEIDA intends to start the scheme by the end of the current fiscal year. At the moment, semiconductors, which are used in automobiles, mobile phones, and laptop computers, among other electronic items, are made on a small scale in India, with the majority of them imported from Taiwan and China and assembled in the country.
Arun Vir Singh, CEO, stated, “For semiconductors, the country is still reliant on China and Taiwan. They will confront stiff competition once the cluster is formed.”
“A proposal in this regard has been submitted to the state government, and that land acquisition for the development of the cluster will begin soon,” Singh Added.
The prospect of building such units in Gautam Budh Nagar has been discussed for some time.
