You Do What You See or You See What You Do

By Ramita Taneja

New Delhi (27/04/2025): A few months ago, if you had asked me about fitness, I would’ve smiled politely and changed the subject. Sure, I admired people who woke up at dawn to cycle, swim, or run, but that was their thing.
Or so I thought. For me, fitness was just an occasional guest — visiting every now and then, never overstaying its welcome.

One fine day, I picked up an air pistol and tried my hand at shooting. I expected an empty range and maybe a bored instructor or two. Instead, I found a vibrant crowd — people of all ages focused, steady, chasing precision. It surprised me: so many, quietly committed.

Curious, I dusted off my old bicycle. And suddenly, it was like the city had transformed overnight. Cyclists were everywhere — racing down empty roads, laughing through parks, weaving through sleepy streets.
Had they always been there? Or was it that I was only now truly seeing them?

Swimming was next. I dove in, expecting a peaceful lane to myself. Nope. The pool was alive, full of people carving paths through water with determination written all over their faces.
I began to notice the morning walkers too — the young, the elderly, the dreamers — all greeting the sunrise one step at a time.

I picked up tennis again, and to my delight, the courts were buzzing — rackets swinging, balls flying, smiles lighting up faces under the morning sun.

Running? Same story. Trails, roads, tracks — they were all alive with footsteps chasing the sunrise.

That’s when it hit me:
“The world doesn’t change when you move; you just start seeing the part of it that was moving all along.”

More and more people are choosing to push their boundaries, to celebrate their bodies, to prioritize health. Fitness isn’t a chore anymore; it’s becoming a way of life, a new culture we are silently building together.

People are choosing life. Choosing vitality over excuses. Choosing to celebrate their breath, their heartbeat, their strength.

Fitness isn’t about six-packs or marathons anymore. It’s about showing up for yourself — one pedal, one dive, one stroke, one step, one swing at a time.

The real race is not against others. It’s to become the person who refuses to give up.

So move. Walk, run, swim, cycle, play.
You’re not alone.
You’re part of a quiet revolution — and every drop of sweat is a victory song.

Remember, when you make a positive choice, you don’t walk alone — you discover a hidden world walking with you.
Pick up that cycle, lace up those shoes, dive into that pool. You’ll find your tribe waiting — not behind you, not ahead of you — but right beside you.

Because in the end, fitness isn’t about distance covered.
It’s about journeys shared.
