Australia (28/10/2022): Zimbabwe clinched their first victory in T20 World Cup 2022 as they defeated Pakistan in a final-ball thriller in the Perth Stadium.
After winning the toss, Zimbabwe opted to bat first and put up a 131-runs target for Pakistan. A strong opening stand between Craig Ervine and Wessly Madhevere in addition Sean Williams’ crucial knock helped Zimbabwe cross the 120 runs mark.
Brilliant bowling spells from Sikandar Raza (3/25), Brad Evans (2/25), and Blessing Muzarabani (1/18) limited Pakistan to a score of 129/8 in 20 overs.
Sikandar Raza was adjudged the player of the match and he also thanked former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting for motivation.
