Wife booked for husband’s suicide

Gurgaon: Due to frequent tiffs with his wife, a man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the roof of his room following which his wife was booked for abetment of suicide by the police here in Gurgaon.

Imran Khan (29) took the extreme step on Sunday when his wife had gone to her parents house along with their two daughters.

Khan lived in Shakti Park area in sector 10A with his wife and two daughters on the first floor while his parents lived on the ground floor of the same house.

He worked at a private company. A few months ago, Khan had a dispute with his wife Sanu following which there were frequent tiffs between the couple. The police told TOI that Khan was said to be under a lot of stress due to the domestic tension. On Saturday, Sanu went to her parents house with her two daughters.
On Sunday morning, at around 10 am, Khan’s mother went upstairs to wake her son up but nobody opened the door. She peeped through the window and saw her son hanging from the ceiling fan. Khan had used a bedsheet to hang himself in his bedroom.
“It appears that the he ended his life due to family tension. He left behind a suicide note in which he has blamed his wife for his death. Therefore we have booked the wife for abetment of suicide under 306 IPC at sector 10A police station,” said ACP Hawa Singh.
