21st EV Expo 2024 Opens at Pragati Maidan, Marking a Decade of Excellence with Numerous New Launches
New Delhi, December 20, 2024 – The 21st edition of the EV Expo opened today at Hall Nos. 1 & 2 of Pragati Maidan, marking a significant milestone as it celebrates 10 years of fostering innovation and growth in the electric vehicle (EV) industry. The three-day event is off to an enthusiastic start, attracting stakeholders, innovators, and enthusiasts from across India and abroad.
The Expo was inaugurated by Mr. Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Corporate Affairs. Mr. Malhotra emphasized the critical role of electric vehicles (EVs) in combating global warming and minimizing carbon emissions. While alternative fuels like ethanol have their merits, he highlighted EVs as the best option available today. He praised the EV Expo for serving as an excellent platform for stakeholders across the EV industry to interact and promote sustainable mobility. Expressing his excitement, he noted the presence of an e-tractor at the event. Mr. Malhotra reaffirmed his belief that EVs will play a pivotal role in achieving Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a carbon-neutral nation by 2070
Mr. Ajay Tamta, MoS in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Former Minister of State for External Affairs of India were among the other dignitaries who visited the Expo today.
With participation from around 200 exhibitors, the EV Expo 2024 is showcasing a comprehensive array of electric mobility solutions. From personal to passenger and utility vehicles, visitors can explore cutting-edge 2-, 3-, and 4-wheelers, including e-scooters, bikes, e-rickshaws, autos, loaders, tractors, cars, and food carts etc.. The event also serves as a platform for companies specializing in EV components, batteries, charging solutions, accessories, and services to display their latest technologies and advancements.

Key Highlights and New Launches:
- Khalsa EV: Launched two L5 models (3+1 and 6+1) featuring a 203 km per charge range – the highest in the segment. Equipped with a 230AH-11.7 KWH battery, it offers a 5-year battery warranty and IOT tracking capabilities. Price: around ₹4 lakh.
- Citius unveiled a range of vehicles, including two e-tractors (Balraj ET 207 and ET 250) with 20 HP and 50 HP, respectively. These LFP battery-powered tractors provide a range of 80-280 km and cater to 2-5 ton requirements. Also unveiled were a range of 2 wheelers, Kitchen e-carts and RTV with 16-seater capacity.
- Terra Motors (Japan): Launched the D+3 L5 Auto e-rickshaw with an LFP battery offering a 150 km range and speeds of 50-55 km/h. On-road price: ₹3.75 lakh with a ₹3 lakh loan option through Terra Finance. Made in India.
- Maxim E Vehicles (Haryana): Presented multiple launches, including a handicapped-suitable two-wheeler with an 80 km range, available with lead (₹65,000) or lithium batteries (₹80,000). Also launched were e-scooters and loaders for personal and commercial use.
- EVEY Electric Bike (Sirsa): Launched the Veespa Prime scooty priced at ₹56,000 (with a 1-year warranty). It features a range of 50-60 km with a lead-acid battery and is also compatible with a lithium battery option (₹66,000).
- Mercury EV Tech Ltd: Introduced the Mushak, a pickup/loader vehicle with a hydraulic lift. It offers a 1,000 kg load capacity, an LFP battery with a 200 km range, and advanced utility features.
