3 women among 8 held in flesh trade racket

The city police arrested eight persons, including three women, for their alleged involvement in a prostitution racket. In a raid conducted at the Swarn Nagari area of Greater Noida on Thursday evening, the police arrested five men and three women, including the mastermind of the racket.

“Intelligence inputs had confirmed that a sex racket was being carried out from flat in Swarn Nagari area. On Thursday, a team comprising women constables located the flat and a raid was conducted. Three women and five men were nabbed from the spot,” said Anil Pratap Singh, station house officer, Kasna police station, Greater Noida.

He said that during questioning, the accused persons confessed to their role in the racket. Three of the men arrested, all residents of Greater Noida, were found to be customers, the police said.

“One of the three women, a Ghaziabad resident, was found to be the mastermind of the gang. Two other women were found to be working for her in the flesh trade,” Singh said.

The police said the two other men nabbed from the spot were involved in procuring women for the trade.

“A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code was registered at the Kasna police station. The accused persons are being questioned. They will be produced in the court and sent to jail,” Singh said.
