35 injured as bus crashes near airport

Lucknow: As many as 35 passengers, including four women and two children were injured when a speeding bus lost control in a bid to save a biker near Amausi airport on Thursday. Condition of one is critical and is under treatment at KGMU trauma centre. Police detained the bus driver for questioning and its owner has been called to verify whether the vehicle had authorisation to run on highways.These 35 passengers had hired the bus from Ghaziabad to attend a wedding ceremony Lucknow.

As soon as the bus reached Sarojininagar, around 10.30 am on Thursday, a bike came suddenly in front of it and to save it, the driver swerved which sent the bus out of control. The speeding vehicle hit the divider and then overturned .Eye-witness paan-shop owner Vishwanath said, “There was a sudden and loud explosion and we saw a deluxe AC bus lying overturned. It was scary.
