5 car lifters nabbed, 10 vehicles seized
Ghaziabad: A gang of vehicle lifters active in Delhi and NCR has been busted and five of its members have been arrested. The gang members used to sell stolen vehicles to unsuspecting customers for as low as Rs 10,000.
Police seized eight cars, two mini-trucks, three country-made guns, live cartridged and a bunch of masterkeys from them.
The gang members have been identified as Sahil alias Gulzar, Iqram, Qasim, Maroof and Arpan Malik, all of whom are in their mid-twenties. The gang used to operate in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad and Meerut. They used to sell the cars after obtaining fake registration papers.
“The gang members were nabbed when they were travelling in an Esteem in Muradnagar,” said Muradnagar SHO Subodh Saxena.
