61 Noida assembly by poll – highlights of polling – result on 16th September

While the urban voter turnout was low, people from rural areas like Kanawani, Nawada, Kakrala and Chhajarsi came out in large numbers to exercise their franchise in the bypoll in Noida, which is the biggest assembly segment in UP in terms of voters (523,762).

Kanavi village, which had witnessed communal violence in May this year, had a high voter turnout.

Kakrela village saw a high percentage of Muslim voters cast their ballots.

Voting began at 7 am. By 9 am, the voter turnout was just 4.5% and it touched 16% around 1 pm. By 3 pm, the percentage was reported to be 24. 31% around 5 pm and finally recorded overall 32.5% at 6 pm.
