7th pay commission latest news – Central government employees to get arrears

New Delhi : (July 31,2016) TNNN The government on Friday said it will pay arrears in one installment along with salary for the month of August by factoring in the 7th Pay Commission-induced pay and pension hikes notified earlier this week.



To expedite disbursement of arrears, a government order said arrear claims may be paid without pre-check of fixation of pay in revised scales of pay. However, the facilities to disburse arrears without pre-check of fixation of pay won’t be available for government servants who have relinquished service after date of implementation of Pay Commission’s recommendations, it said. The arrears would be paid from January1, 2016.The rate of the first installment of Dearness Allowance under revised pay will be announced later.

“The arrears as accruing on account of revised pay consequent upon fixation of pay under CCS (RP) Rules, 2016 with effect from January 1, 2016, shall be paid in cash in one installment along with the payment of salary for the month of August, 2016, after making necessary adjustment on account of GPF and NPS, as applicable, in view of the revised pay,” a finance ministry statement said.

Lats month, the government had accepted the pay- and pension-related recommendations of the Pay Commission with a slight betterment of the commission’s package for specified cadres of armed forces, over 1 crore central government staffers and pensioners.
