Robbery cum murder case solved : 2 accused arrested
2 robbed mobile phones of deceased recovered.
With the arrest of two accused namely Rajesh @ Bengali (age 27 years) r/o Jhuggi Indira Camp, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi and his associate Vikas (age 27 years) r/oJhuggi Indira Camp, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi, a team of PS S.J. Enclave, South District has worked out a murder case of Amit Virmani reported on the night of 10.09.15. Accused Mukesh (age 22 years) r/o Servant Quarters, S.J. Hospital, New Delhi to whom accused Rajesh @ Bengali had sold the robbed mobile phone has also been arrested and robbed mobile phone of deceased was recovered from his possession.
Brief facts :
On 10.09.15 at about 09.30 PM, a PCR Call that one person was assaulted with a blade and was lying serious near Safdarjung Hospital was received. Immediately, local police reached the spot and found that the injured was already taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre by a passerby where the doctors declared him brought dead. The deceased was later identified as Amit Virmani, a Technical Officer with M/s Hathways Cable & Datacom Ltd., Safdarjung Enclave. During enquiry, it came to notice that earlier Amit Virmani used to come from Ballabhgarh, Haryana on his motor cycle to his office. Recently, the metro services had been started from Faridabad to Delhi and he started coming office via metro. His office is situated at walking distance from AIIMS Metro Station. While going back to his home from office on10.09.15, the same route was followed by him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 924/15 dated11.09.15 u/s 302/394/397/34/411 IPC was registered at PS S.J. Enclave and investigation was taken up.
Investigation :
During the course of investigation, it was revealed that on the fateful day i.e.10.09.15, Amit Virmani had left his office at around 9 PM. He was carrying two mobile phones and a bag containing laptop. He was walking towards AIIMS Metro Station and was carrying mobile phone in his hand. When he reached near Safdarjung Hospital, he was attacked by some unknown persons and he sustained injuries from a sharp edged weapon in his left lower abdomen and collapsed on the service lane.
In order to arrest the culprits, many teams led by Inspr. V.K.P.S Yadav, SHO/Sarojini Nagar, Inspr. V.N. Jha, SHO/S.J Enclave and Inspr. Neeraj Chaudhary, SHO/R.K Puram and Inspr. Rajender Singh, I/C STF/SD and his team under the supervision of Sh. S.P Tyagi, ACP/S.J. Enclave were constituted. The team conducted intensive hunt for the accused persons, many suspects were enquired and sources were deployed to get any clue about the culprits. During this period, HC Ramhet of PS S.J Enclave got a secret information that one person was trying to sell a smart phone at a very cheaper rate. A trap was laid and accused Rajesh @ Bengali r/o Jhuggi, Indira Camp, Safdarjung Enclave was apprehended.
Interrogation :
During interrogation, accused Rajesh @ Bengali disclosed that in a bid to loot valuable, on the night of 10.09.15, he along with his associate Vikas, had attacked on Amit Virmani near S.J. Hospital. Amit having physical advantages, resisted their attempt of snatching his mobile phone and other articles. He further disclosed that they both tried to overpower Amit but did not succeed and hence inflicted injury on him with a sharp edged weapon. The duo managed to loot his two mobile phones and fled away from the spot. Rajesh @ Benali sold the mobile phone to one Mukesh @ Rai for Rs. 2000/-. At the instance of accused Rajesh @ Bengali, co-accused Vikas and Mukesh were arrested and robbed mobile phones of deceased were recovered from their possession.

- Rajesh @ Bengali (age 27 years) r/o Jhuggi, Indira Camp, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi is illiterate. He is unmarried.
- Vikas (age 27 years) r/o Jhuggi, Indira Camp, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi is illiterate. He is unmarried. He works as labourer.
- Mukesh (age 22 years) r/o Servant Quarters, S.J. Hospital, New Delhi has studied up to 10th class. He works as sweeper in S.J. Hospital on contractual basis.
Recovery :
- Two robbed mobile phones of deceased.
