• TWO INTERSTATE BURGLARS/DACOITS INCLUDING ONE BANGLADESHI NATIONAL ARRESTED.
• THE DUO COMMITTED A DACOITY IN A HOUSE AFTER HOLDING THE FAMILY HOSTAGE AT FARIDABAD.
• THE BANGLADESHI NATIONAL WAS PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED FOR HOUSE ROBBERY WORTH RS.4 CRORE AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY DEPORTED.
• 10 CASES OF BURGLARY/ROBBERY/DACOITY INVOLVINGHARD CASH AND JEWELLERY OF DELHI NCR WORKED OUT.

INTRODUCTION:-

Crime Branch has apprehended two notorious robbers/burglars namely Furkan @ Munna (29 yrs) s/o Siddiqi r/o Village Bhandaria, Distt. Firozpur, State Barisal, Bangladesh; present address Pooja Colony, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, UP and Puran Chand @ Chinky (26 yrs)  s/o Shiv Prasad r/o Shastri Nagar, Delhi who were involved in as many as 10 incidents of robbery etc. in Delhi NCR.

INFORMATION & TEAM:-

Information was received by Eastern Range of Crime Branch about a gang of robbers/burglars who are active in Delhi NCR. A team led by DCP Rajiv Sharma, consisting of ACP Sukhwinder Singh, Insprs. Vivek Tyagi & Vinay Tyagi, SIs Raj Kumar, Dinesh, HCs Raj Kumar, Upender, Sanjeev, Devender, Digvijay and Ct. Md. Javed was constituted under the supervision of Addl. CP Alok Kumar to nab them.

It was believed that this gang was behind the spate of recent incidents of robbery/burglary involving huge cash/jewellery in Delhi NCR. The team was working on this input and all the possible means i.e. manual and technical surveillance were deployed to track down the gang. Sustained and sincere efforts put on by the team eventually bore fruit when specific information was received by Const. Javed on 07.09.2015 that two desperate criminals namely Furkan @ Munna  and Puran Chand @ Chinky would come near Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital, Tahir Pur to commit some heinous crime and they may be well armed with firearms. On this specific information, a trap was laid at the place of information and both the accused Furkan @ Munna and Puran Chand @ Chinky were apprehended and two country made pistols alongwith 8 live cartridges were recovered from them. A case vide FIR No.140/15 u/s 25 Arms Act has been registered PS Crime Branch in this regard.

RECOVERIES:-

1. Two country made pistol alongwith 8 live cartridges.
2. Two mobile phones, wrist watch (looted from Faridabad)
3. Foreign currency notes 21 Dollars, 5 Euros and Dirhams (looted from Faridabad).

INTERROGATION & MODUS OPERANDI:–

During sustained interrogation, they confessed to have committed a number of robberies/burglaries/dacoities alongwith their associates in Delhi NCR. They would rob the targets/victims at gun point by putting them under the fear of death or grievous hurt. They would enter the houses by breaking the lock or removing grill and would ransack the house to rob cash, jewellery etc. They would threaten the family members with firearms and fasten them to ensure smooth and safe escape after the act. In the recent incident committed at Faridabad, they strapped all the family members and guest etc. and locked them in a room at gun point and decamped with valuables. They had entered into the house by removing the grill. They all were masked and armed with guns and knives etc. Apart from this distinctive modus operandi of Bangladeshi robbers they would also indulged in highway robberies, and burglaries etc.

WORKED OUT CASES:-

PROFILE: –

1. Accused Furkan @ Munna (29 yrs) originally hails from Barisal, Bangladesh. He has one younger sister. He has studied upto 8^th standard and sneaked in India in 2001. He started working as a painter in Delhi and took up the job of white washing in houses for subsistence. To make fast bucks, he came in contact of bad elements and started committing house burglaries, robberies and dacoities in typical Bangladeshi gang style with his other associates who happened to be notorious robbers. He was arrested in the year 2005 for the first time in a case of house dacoity of crores of rupee vide FIR No.155/05 u/s 395/398/34 IPC, PS Shalimar Bagh and decamped with the booty. Later on, he was convicted and sentenced for 7 year rigorous imprisonment in that case. Soon after release from jail, the gang again started committing burglaries/robberies/dacoities all over again in Delhi NCR.

2. Acused Puran Chand @ Chinky (26 yrs) s/o Shiv Prasad is studying in B.A Final Year from SOL, Delhi University. He has one brother and three sisters. He took up some private job/work but did not find it sufficient for his ever increasing needs. Ultimately, he came in the contact of some bad elements. In a bid to make fast money, he started indulging in criminal activities alongwith his other associates.
