PHARMACIST’S DAY – PHARMACISTS: YOUR PARTNER IN HEALTH

Institute of Pharmacy of Noida Institute of Engineering and Technology(NIET) , Greater Noida celebrates the National Pharmacist Day on the topic “Pharmacists: Your partner in health” on 1^st October 2015. The Institute organized a health awareness camp on diabetes which was inaugurated by Dr Ajay Kumar, Director , NIET who gave a motivational speech to the pharmacy students narrating the significance of National Pharmacists Day. Dr Avijit Mazumder, Director Pharmacy, NIET elaborated the changing role of Pharmacists from conventional dispensing chemists to an integrated member of healthcare team. . The pharmacists now play a leading role  in providing counseling in various key areas related to drug toxicity, food drug interaction and drug drug interaction. Dr Praveen Pachouri, Director Project and Planning and Dr Choube  shared thier views on the role of pharmacists. Dr Deepak Dey, Senior General Manager, Dabur illustrated the role of Pharmaceutical Packaging and Labelling in the maintenance of drug stability in the  post GATT era. Various competitions like Yoga Competitions, Quiz Competitions and Poster Competitions were organized amongst the students of various pharmacy colleges of Greater Noida.  Mr Amit Kumar, Neha nad Manorama Secured first positions in Yoga, Poster making and Quiz Competition. Dr Rupa Mazumder ,Dean (R&D) extended  the vote of thanks.
