Contract workers draw hope from CM vow

Every morning when she reports at the DTC bus depot in Mangolpuri, 35-year-old Nirmal, a bus conductor, hopes to see her name on the duty roster. A contract worker with Delhi Transport Corporation, Nirmal has to perform 26 duties a month to take home Rs 10,000. DTC pays Rs 361 per day to its contract employees with an incentive of Rs 1,500 for conductors who work 26 or more days a month.
