160 Kung Fu Nuns, cycling from Nepal to India are at BIMTECH today at 5.30 pm (January 7, 2016) Reception Function at 7.00 pm (Activity Plaza)

Around 235160 nuns of the Drukpa Buddhist monastic order, famous as ‘Kung Fu nuns’ are on an arduous cycle yatra started on November 18, 2015 from Kathmandu across the Indian states of Bihar and UP to create awareness for women empowerment and environmental conservation.

We are happy to share with you that a group of about 160 members of the entourage has acceded to our request to be the guests of BIMTECH today.
Accordingly, the entire entourage is reaching BIMTECH today at about 5.30 pm and will be staying in the campus tonight. On this occasion, BIMTECH will be organising a Reception Session in the Activity Plaza at 7.00 pm.
The nuns of Druk Amitabha Mountain nunnery based in the hills of Kathmandu and Naro Photang in Ladakh, have so far covered around 2,000 km and are now headed for the last stop, Delhi under the leadership of His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa (profile attached)
The cycle expedition began from Kathmandu on November 18, passed through Gorakhpur, Patna, Rajgir, Gaya, Varanasi, Allahabad, Kanpur, Saifai and Agra before it concludes on January 9 in New Delhi. The cyclists in the group are from Ladakh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh and Nepal.
