Minor raped by neighbour in #Ghaziabad

GHAZIABAD: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped on Sunday by her neighbour in Arthala village, Ghaziabad. An FIR has been lodged against the accused under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC and the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

According to police, the girl went to a common toilet on another floor of the building she stays in at around 10.30 pm. “Ram Snehi Prajapati (28), who lives in the same building, pulled her into his room and raped her,” said Har Dayal Singh Yadav, station house officer, Sahibabad. Prajapati is a driver.

After a while,when she did not return, her father went to the top floor. He found his daughter lying unconscious in Prajapati’s room, he said. The girl was severely injured and was bleeding when he found her, said Yadav.

The girl has undergone medical examination in a nearby government hospital where she is undergoing treatment, he said.

On her family’s complaint an FIR was registered against the accused. He was presented in a city court on Monday and was sent to jail, said Yadav.
