“Indian Railways are working on a plan which would make the portal of IRCTC to promote and sale the handicrafts made by the participants of 30th Surajkund International Crafts Mela’, said Railways Minister in Modi government Shri Suresh Prabhu. Prabhu was a special invitee on the occassion of the opening ceremony of the 30th edition of the international crafts mela. He said that since the railways are the lifeline of the country, it can well connect the people all over the country by using its portal. He said that this facility would help these people sell their products all over the world just by using the right platform. He said that since it is the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to go for digital India, this is the best way to connect these people, some of which are living in far flung areas, to the main stream and get the right worth of the material they have made with their hard labour. Prabhu attended the inauguration of the mela in a hurry, since he had to leave for some meeting. However, he managed to travel allthe way to Faridabad to participate in the same. Before leaving after his brief address to the gathering, he was felicited by Tourism Minister Haryana Ram Bilas Sharma.
