2nd car-free day in Kavi Nagar today

Ghaziabad: Volunteers of civil defence in Ghaziabad will join hands with residents for the second car-free day scheduled to be held on Thursday. The event will be observed only in Kavi Nagar zone of Ghaziabad. However, much like its previous version held on February 10, the event is expected to be largely a symbolic affair as the district administration has left it entirely upon residents to shun the use of cars for the day.
“The district administration had asked us to provide support to RWAs for the event. We have enlisted 30 volunteers to aid and assist residents in conducting the event. The volunteers will undertake the duties assigned to them by the RWA federation,” said Lalit Jaiswal, chief warden of the civil defence (Ghaziabad).
