Ghaziabad: Police have detained some persons in connection with the murder of the 29-year-old cloth merchant Arshi Malik in an upscale Indirapuram housing society last Friday. The family members, meanwhile, are expected to meet CM Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow on Monday.Five people allegedly opened fire on Arshi on the premises of ATS Advantage in Ahimsa Khand I of Indirapuram around 11:30pm on Friday when he was taking a stroll near a swimming pool. Arshi is survived by his wife and three minor sons.The Ghaziabad police on Sunday claimed to have launched a massive operation to nab the armed miscreants.

However, no arrests have been made as yet. “We have gained some leads in the murder and about the whereabouts of the accused. The details can’t be shared because the probe is still underway,” SP (City) Salmantaj Patil said.
