Man strangulates wife to death

Muzaffarnagar, Apr 16 (PTI) A woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her husband after she refused to give him money to buy liquor in Barla village here, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday when Sonia refused to give Bablu money to buy liquor and he strangulated her in a fit of rage, they said.

Bablu has been arrested, police said, adding a case has been filed against him.

In another case, a woman was poisoned to death yesterday allegedly by her in-laws over a property dispute, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Zahira, they added.

A case against five persons, including her husband Saleem, has been filed, police said.

Other accused include Zahira’s brothers-in-law Rahees Yusuf, Danish and Akhtari, police said, adding they are all absconding.

The body has been sent for postmortem and further probe is on, they added.
