AAP welcomes Supreme Court verdict on BCCI
The Aam Aadmi Party warmly welcomes the landmark decision of the Supreme Court to sack the top brass of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for not complying with the recommendations of the Justice Lodha panel.
AAP firmly maintains that political parties and politicians should have NO place in sports bodies of the country.
AAP had been demanding implementation of the Lodha committee recommendations in all sports bodies & sports federations.
The Supreme Court verdict is a major victory for people like advocate Rahul Mehra who are continuously fighting for a clean and efficient sports bodies in country to channelise sports talent of our nation.
In the past also the AAP has raised corruption in DDCA and demanded investigation. Corruption and misrule in sports authorities have destroyed sports talent of our country, whether we talk about Cricket or any other sport. Not only corruption and misrule but insufficient sports infrastructure in our country is also a big issue.
Commenting on the verdict, the AAP Delhi convenor Dilip Pandey said : “Sports bodies must be freed from political clutches. Let the noble sportsmen run it. Today’s SC decision must be considered a guiding principal.”
AAP supports the concept of Swaraj (self rule of sportpersons) in sports so that people who understand different sports and requirements of players can run sports federations. AAP also demands/suggests that there should be a sports legislation in India.
