Swaraj India covenors today addressed press in the National Capital regarding the ongoing election symbol issue.
Yogendra Yadav started with talking about MCD elections. It must be noted that Delhi High Court has rejected Swaraj India’s claim for common symbol early morning today.
While refusing to comment on HC verdict, Yogendra Yadav alleged of a conspiracy behind not allowing his party to fight on common symbol.
He said that a party fighting on over 10% seats can get common symbol as per an SC directive of 2013. Even AAP got benefit of it in its first elections.
Yogendra Yadav claims that Delhi’s AAP government is playing foul in this context by rejecting advises of Delhi’s election commissioner.
State Election Commission doesn’t works directly under election commission of India.
He presented several letters as proof of his allegations.
Prashant Bhushan spoke about legal grounds behind Swaraj India being given a common symbol. He says that the decision will be challenged in front of Division Bench.
