Seven km traffic jam on Gur-Faridabad Road
Seven kilo meter long traffic jam on the Gurgaon Faridabad Road created big chaos on Monday evening. The jam is caused by knee deep water flooded the low lying carriageway here in front of Valley View Apartment Gwalpahari. The water of the nulla flowing from foothills of the Aravalli at Gwalpahari and passing through Valley View and from under the Grugaon Faridabad Road got choked resulting into back-flow of water to the road. The natural nulla or drain is 12 km long and starting from Gwalpahari it merges in Najafgarh drain via middle of the city Gurugram. The nulla often back-flows disturbing traffic.
Mangal Singh, resident of Valley View, said, "The water logging on the main road started around 5 pm and it spread almost 500 meter of main carriageway in next two hours. The commuters fear driving through knee deep water since the 500 meter road here is very low. The fear of accident gripped many and people drive slow causing traffic backlog extending three kilometer both side."
The 25 km long Gurgaon Faridabad Road is maintained by a private agency since toll started in 2012 and it is one of the busiest roads of Delhi NCR.
