Ola Cabs and Delhi Police collaborate to launch safe street campaign to ensure safety and security on road
New Delhi: India’s leading cab aggregater –Ola launched Safe Street Campaign with an association of Delhi Police aimed to strengthened road and ride safety in Delhi today.
Delhi Commissioner of Police, Amulya Patnaik launched the campaign by flagging off the cars from India Gate, New Delhi today evening.
The Police Commissioner also flagged off Ola cabs with child lock disablement stickers designed to remind passengers to check and disable child lock before the trip starts. With this, Ola becomes the first ride-sharing company to comply with the recent notification issued by the State Transport Authority (STA) that mandates drivers to paste a minimum of four stickers in their cabs.
Aimed to create awareness on three key causes of road fatalities in India; drinking and driving, texting and driving, and over speeding Ola launched this campaign. Moreover, Ola to conduct workshops and trainings for driver partners across the country; gender sensitization workshops for 1 million driver partners; 1 lakh driver partners to participate in these workshops in New Delhl by 2020.
Moreover, Ola also felicitated cab drivers and police officials for their tremendous work in ensuring public safety.
Speaking in the event, Delhi Police Commissioner, Amulya Patnaik said, “It is good effort toward women safety. We have to be aware and create awareness about road safety.”
“Besides, Delhi police has taken slew of measures to curb crime against women cases by launching Himmat Plus app and campaign and apparently it helped to brought down the rates crime against women,” he added.
Later, Ola city head, Pranav Manta said, “Safety is a serious concern for all of us. Statistics show that one serious road accident occurs in the country every minute.
