BJP MP Udit Raj expresses displeasure over Mehsana Incident, announces agenda of All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations Conference

Dr. Udit Raj, BJP MP and national chairman of All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations today addressed a media briefing to inform about the regional conference of All India Confederation of SC/ST Organizations which will be held in Mawlankar Hall, Constitution Club of India on 17th June.
Briefing about the agenda he said, “Seven main agenda’s including Supreme Court March 20tg judgement regarding prevention of atrocities act, the UGC guidelines issued on 5th March, the killing of Dalits during Bharat Bandh as well as perpetual rise of atrocities against Dalits in different states will be discussed. The confederation will also take important decisions to ensure that all such issues concerning SC/ST community are resolved at the earliest”.
MP Udit Raj also informed that today President of India has approved the ordinance sent by Karnataka Government regarding reservation in promotion and thanked Union Minister’s Ravi Shankar Prasad and Rajnath Singh for their roles in expediting it.
He also expressed serious concerns over the recent case of atrocities against Dalits in Mehsana, Gujarat where a Dalit was allegedly beaten for wearing a shoe similar to that of a Thakur.
He said, “It is really disheartening to hear about such very unfortunate cases and we urge law and order authorities to take strictest action to ensure equality in the society”.
