AAP suffers major blow as Shazia Ilmi, Captain Gopinath quit

Following a disastrous show in the recently concluded general elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suffered another blow on Saturday with founder leader Shazia Ilmi resigning from all posts in the party.

“There is a lack of inner party democracy in AAP,”Ilmi said addressing a press conference here.

She accused that party chief Arvind Kejriwal of ignoring other leaders and being surrounded by ‘crony clique’.

“Arvind has shot the messenger, I was consistently sidelined in the party,” Ilmi said.

“I’m not for jail bharo politics. There’s a need to reinvent AAP,go beyond agitation,” she said.

Another party member, Captain G R Gopinath, founder of Air Deccan, also announced his resignation from the party today.
