B-town celebs gear up for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, greet fans
Bollywood celebrities wish their fans on the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi on their social media pages today. As per the tradition, every year actors bring Ganesh idol at their home and celebrate the festival enthusiastically. This year also several actors were spotted bringing home the idol of Bappa for the celebrations. Actor Shilpa Shetty was also seen taking bappa home. She was seen in comfy ethnics while she held bappa in her hands.

Ganesh is one of the most celebrated festivals of India, it is also known as Vinayak Chaturthi. The festival is the celebration of the birth of Lord Ganesha, son of God Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The devotees celebrate the occasion with immense fervour and gaiety in Mumbai and parts of Maharashtra. They offer modaks and other things to their loving Bappa and ask for his blessings for the year ahead.
The festival lasts for 10 days in which people bring bring idols of Lord Ganesh to their home and worship for a one-and-a-half-day, three days, five days, seven days, 10 days. Some even stretch the festival for 11 days.
