THE CONGRESS PARTY ACCUSES THE BJP AND THE AAM AADMI PARTY OF IGNORING THE BALMIKI SAMAJ.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Shri Arvinder Singh said whenever the the BJP came to power, it not only ignored the interest of the safai karamcharis, but was also against the Balmiki Samaj, daily wage employees and the poor people in a deliberate manner. The manner in which all the three MCDs ruled by the BJP exploits the safai karamcharis clearly indicates BJP’s anti-Dalit policies and rules.
Shri Arvinder Singh said this today while addressing the safai karamcharis and the daily wage employees, including chowkidars, sitting on a dharna at Jantar Mantar under the banner of the all MCD Karamchari Bhartiya Lokhit Morcha. Morcha convenor Shri I.S.Bharadwaj, South Delhi and East Delhi MCD Leaders of the Opposition Shri Farhad Suri and Smt. Varyam Kaur and Municipal Councillor Shri Abhikesh Dutt were also present at the dharna. Thousands of workers were also present at the dharna, including women workers. These workers have been sitting on dharna at Jantar Mantar, seeking redressal of their demands, for the past 427 days.
Shri Arvinder Singh said thousands of safai karamcharis of Delhi, who belong to the Balmiki community, were being denied their just rights by the MCD authorities. Criticising the Aam Aadmi Party and its leader Shri Arvind Kejriwal, he said Shri Kejriwal, who played the politics of betrayal, not only harassed the Balmiki Samaj, but also spared no effort to insult them. He said the Balmiki Samaj was waiting to teach Shri Kejriwal a bitter lesson for betraying the poor people, as well as giving false promises to the Balmiki Samaj, to come to power. He said whenever elections are held in Delhi, the Balmiki Samaji and the daily wage earners will boycott the Aam Aadmi Party.
The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, endorsing its support to the demands of the Lokhit Morcha in writing, said the Congress will get full justice for the karamcharis when the time comes, and the Congress councilors would take up their demands and problems on an urgent basis in all the three MCDs.
