8.69 crore farmers to get the first instalment of ₹2,000 in April: FM

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday announced that the government will pay the first instalment of ₹2,000 to around 8.69 crore farmers under the PM-Kisan Yojana. She further added that MNREGA wages will be hiked from ₹182 to ₹202. Further, elderly, widows and divyangs will get one-time additional cash transfer of ₹1,000 in two instalments.
