All that we have been talking for last few months is Covid-19. It has impacted most of our families, have turned our lives upside down in unprecedented ways, however, worst seems to be behind us now. And it’s time to heal- not just physically but mentally too.

These sudden, rapid changes in the way we live, coupled with uncertainty, can feel overwhelming. While we may know that it’s usually helpful for everyone in the family if everyone is staying happy and healthy, it’s sometimes easier said than done.

And with the help from experts, we are sharing you some tips that will help you infuse positivity into your life.

• It will not be this way forever. This is a difficult time, but it is just that — a time.
• Recognize what you are doing well. It may be tough right now, but you have managed some things really well. Think about the physical, logistical, mental and emotional struggles you may have encountered in the last month, and the good — even great — way you approached and handled those challenges. Go you!
• Practice gratitude. Consider starting each day, recognizing/writing 3 things you are thankful for.
• Look for the silver lining. For me, my college-aged kids returning home last spring gave us time together as a family that we would not have otherwise had. I will treasure the memories that we made during that time.
• Take stock of your life—assess what you have achieved so far and create a plan for what you wish to do once this difficult period ends. By doing so, you will be convincing your mind that the ‘crisis will definitely end’. The plans you make are what you will have to look forward to.
• Never lose your smile
• This may feel like an odd advice now – to smile while terrible things are happening around the world. You may not feel like it, but it will actually uplift your mood. Those around you will see you smiling and most likely respond with a smile back, even if they’re under harsh circumstances.
