Elated with Silver win, Galgotias University proposes badminton court named after Suhas LY

Noida and Greater Noida residents are elated beyond joy. As the district became the only one to have a Para Olympic medal winner as its collector.

So far known for his impeccable administrative skills, Suhas LY, a computer engineer, Suhas has been posted as a district magistrate of Noida since 2020. He was also at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus pandemic.

Upon his amazing feat of winning the silver medal, Galgotias University CEO Dhruv Galgotia extended congratulations Suhas LY. He also announced a grand plan to honour his legacy.

“The organization is planning a world class badminton court in his name at university,” he told TenNews.

The Noida DM had an entertaining performance before narrowly going down 21-15 17-21 15-21 to two-time world champion Mazur in a 62-minute summit clash.

The district magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida) thus also became the first-ever IAS officer to win a medal at the Paralympics.

Suhas had earlier outwitted Indonesia’s Fredy Setiawan 21-9 21-15 in the semifinal.
