Ministry of Health updates on COVID-19 precautionary dose

Saturday, January 8, 2022: As the third precautionary vaccine adminstration drive is to start from January 10 for the helathcare and frontline workers as well as for those over 60 years of age for co-morbidities.

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has clarified that ‘For Precautiinary dose’ there is no need for new registration. Those who have taken two doses of COVID19 vaccine can directly take an appointment or walk-in to any COVID19 Vaccination Centre.’

Moreover, the ministry also informed that the Schedules will be published on Friday. the online appointment facility will also begin from Friday evening

Talking about the same, the health ministry said, ”Schedules will be published on 8th January. The online appointment facility will also start by tomorrow evening. Vaccination with onsite appointment starts on 10th January.

Moreover, earlier on Wednesday Dr VK Paul, Member-Health, Niti Ayog during Media briefing of Union Health Ministry stated ” Precautionary COVID-19 Vaccination dose will be the same vaccine as has been given previously. Those who have recieved Covaxin will receive Covaxin, those who have recieved primary two doses of Covishield will receive Covishield.”

India on Friday crossed the 150 Crore milestone for COVID-19 Vaccination.
