New Delhi, January 11: Amid the massive Covid surge in the Capital, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that the Delhi Government will not impose lockdown in the city for now.

He said, Don’t worry, we will not impose lockdown, adding that, At the DDMA meet we requested Central govt officials to cover the entire NCR for restrictions, they assured us on the same.

“We are expecting somewhere around 20,000-22,000 new COVID-19 cases in Delhi. The positivity rate has been around 24-25 per cent for the past two days. We are enforcing strict restrictions like night curfew in Delhi out of compulsion,” Kejriwal said after visiting a top hospital to assess Covid treatment facilities

Moreover, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal took stock of COVID preparations at LNJP hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, DDMA issued fresh guidelines today after Monday’s meeting which was chaired by LT Governor Anil Baijal.

In its updated guidelines, DDMA has ordered for the closing of all private offices except those which are under the “exempted category.”

DDMA in its fresh Guidelines also ordered the closing of restaurants & bars. Restaurants will be allowed only for home delivery/take away facility.

Delhi on Monday recorded 19,166 new cases, 17 deaths, with positivity rate jumping to 25%. The active caseload in the capital is at 65,808.
