New Delhi, February 9: The Delhi government will resume its free pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens on February 14, according to officials.

A train carrying senior citizen beneficiaries will depart for Dwarka, Gujarat, on February 14, and another train will depart for Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, on February 18.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal started the Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana on July 12, 2019. The Delhi government gives free pilgrimage to senior persons from the national capital as part of the scheme. During the ride, services such as paramedical professionals and attendants are available.

Due to the Omicron-fueled wave of Covid-19 in the Capital, the scheme — Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana (CM Pilgrimage scheme) — was temporarily stopped from January 7 this year.
