Yoga Mahotsav-2022 at Planery Hall, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi On 13th March, 2022 (10 A.M.)

1. Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, is organizing Yoga Mahotsav-2022- an event to commemorate 100 days countdown to IDY-2022 on 13.03.2022 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. MDNIY has been organizing Yoga Mahotsav since 2016 to sensitize the masses regarding celebration of IDY. The Yoga Mahotsav-2022 an event to commemorate 100 days countdown to IDY-2022 witnessing the auspicious presence and discourses by eminent dignitaries, leading Yoga Gurus, experts and scientists of Yoga and allied science, which is being conducted through hybrid mode.

 

2. Ministry of Ayush, Government of India has taken the lead in organizing seven editions of International Day of Yoga (IDY) which found great enthusiasm and worldwide support. The practice started with a resolution adopted by the United Nations in 2014, based on a suggestion made earlier by Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. All over the world, the acceptability of Yoga has been enhanced to the extent that the Yoga is being accepted as a ‘way of life’.

 

3. Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Minister of Ayush, Government of India, will grace the occasion as a Chief Guest to inaugurate the Yoga Mahotsav-2022. Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai Kalubhai, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Ayush to grace the occasion as a Guest of Honour to inaugurate the Yoga Mahotsav-2022 and Shri Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, will be Chair the inaugural function of Yoga Mahotsav-2022.

 

4. The Event will be graced by auspicious presence of Hon’ble dignitaries:

7. The Yoga Mahotsav-2022 will comprise of following important events:

 

• Yoga Workshops/ Seminars/Programs for 100 days in 100 cities with 100 organizations from 13th March, 2022 to 21st June, 2022 across the globe through hybrid mode.
• Technical sessions on (i) The role of Yoga in the post Covid-19 scenario; (ii) Yoga for Human Excellence.
• Yoga for Demonstrations and Cultural Programmes by Yoga Institutions and Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
• Message of Yoga Gurus and Scientists@ 100 days celebration of IDY.
• Participation and discourses by the Yoga Gurus and Yoga Masters.
• Photo Exhibition of previous IDY editions in association with Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

 

8. The function will also graced by Senior officers of Ministry of Ayush, various other ministries, officers of Research Councils and National Institutes, MoA  many eminent dignitaries and experts. Besides both Central and state ministries, Departments, Autonomous organizations; the campaign will rope in ASSOCHAM, CII, FICCI, Yoga and Naturopathy Institutions, University, Yoga Centers in Abroad etc. for wider Publicity.
