New Delhi, 25th April, 2022: Amid the communal tensions in Jahangirpuri, New Delhi, about 200 citizens organised “Tiranga Yatra” on Sunday to deliver a message of religious unity, eight days after violence erupted there.
Although the Jahangirpuri area was heavily barricaded, the police deployed in the area had removed the security measures and monitored the rally. The procession started from C-Block, the site where the demolition had taken place, to the G-Block where the Hindus live.
The 30-minutes long procession had the members of both the communities screaming “Hindu Muslim Sikh Isai, Aapas Mein Hai Bhai Bhai” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, urging the people to live with peace and harmony.
The DCP Usha Rangnani told ANI that the members of both communities have showcased that the Tiranga is of utmost priority and they have given a message that the nation comes first.
