Demolition Drive in South-Delhi to start from May 4

New Delhi, 4 May 2022: The South-Delhi Municipal Corporation will run the first phase of the demolition drive from May 4 to May 13 in South Delhi, stated Rajpal Singh, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee in the corporation.

The demolition drive on May 4 will take place at Mehrauli, Badarpur Road and Karni Singh Shooting Range followed by Kalindi Kunj and Jamia Nagar Police Station on May 5.

While on May 6, encroachments at Srinivaspuri Private Colony to Okhla Railway Station Gandhi Camp will be brought down.

The demolition will begin from Okhla, according to sources. Following the demolition, the next phase will be conducted on May 9 at Shaheen Bagh.

“Encroachment on roads and illegal constructions will be demolished. Letters have been written to the south and south east DCPs,” said officials. The next phase is deemed as a challenge for the officials and extra security personnel will be deployed to prevent violent resistance, they added.

On May 10, the New Friends Colony to Buddh Dharm Mandir will be demolished. Then, on May 11, Lodhi Colony, Meherchand Market around Sai Mandir, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will be targeted. On May 12, Dhinsen Marg, ISKCON Temple Marg area. On May 13, demolition will take place at the Khadda colony.
