New Delhi, 16 May 2022: Owing to the water level reduction in the Yamuna river at Wazirabad and less raw water supply from Haryana, the water supply in Delhi will be impacted from 17th May till the water level becomes normal, said Delhi Jal Board.
The Delhi Jal Board stated that Wazirabad, Okhla and Chandrawal water treatment plants are producing insufficient water, urging the citizens to store as much water in advance.
“The water level of Yamuna at Wazirabad Water Works has reached 669.40 feet against the ideal level of 674.50 feet,” the notification said. The DJB has also mentioned that water tankers will be provided on emergency water shortage on request.
There are several regions where water supply will be affected including Civil Lines, South Extension, Old and New Rajinder Nagar, Kamla Nagar, Ramlila Ground, Shakti Nagar, Karol Bagh,, Kalkaji, Punjabi Bagh, Tughlakabad, Sangam Vihar, Delhi Gate, Hindu Rao Hospital and adjoining areas, Pahar Ganj and NDMC areas, Jahangirpuri, Greater Kailash, Govindpuri Burari and so on.
