New Delhi, 29 May 2022: BJP MP Maneka Gandhi took on the Union Home Ministry’s decision to transfer IAS Sanjeev Khirwar and Rinku Dugga stating that the allegations were false and they are merely misusing their powers.
She also highlighted that this transfer is a loss for the national capital. “When Khirwar was secretary of the environment department, Delhi benefited from his work. The action against him is completely wrong,” she added.
While they are posted at Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh as a punishment, it is to be taken into consideration that these places need good officials and forcing them to go there will do no good.
However, several politicians questioned the posting as a punishment, they said that “getting transferred to Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh should not be seen as punishment”.
