New Delhi, 17 June 2022: Amid the Congress worker’s protest in Delhi against Rahul Gandhi’s summon by ED, senior MP Jothimani was allegedly assaulted and harassed by the Delhi police.
INC MP Shashi Tharoor has shared a video of the MP Jothimani urging the speaker to take action against the same. In the video, she blamed the Delhi police for assaulting her, tearing her clothes, removing her shoes, and carrying her like a criminal.
“This is outrageous in any democracy. To deal with a woman protestor like this violates every Indian standard of decency, but to do it to a Lok Sabha MP is a new low. I condemn the conduct of the Delhi Police & demand accountability. Speaker Om Birla please act!, said Shashi Tharoor.
