Jammu & Kashmir, Sept 5, 2022: Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Union Minister and Congress leader, organized a mega rally in Jammu on Sunday wherein he announced the details and aims of his new party.

The ex-Congress leader had earlier said that the first unit of his political outfit would be formed in Jammu and Kashmir in view of the impending assembly election.

Addressing the crowd at Sainik Ground, Azad who recently quit the Congress party as well as heavily criticized it, said that the people would decide the name and flag of his new party.

“I have not decided upon a name for my party yet. The people of Jammu and Kashmir will decide the name and the flag for the party. I’ll give a Hindustani name to my party that everyone can understand,” he said.

Azad said that his party will focus on three main issues- the restoration of full statehood, right to land, and employment to native domicile.

Speaking about his resignation from Congress, Azad said “I thank everyone who supported me through their resignations, WhatsApp messages, and other mediums from across the country since I resigned from the party. I have served the Congress party holding every position for last 53 years but never received this much love even when I am not on any position”.
